Silicone Sponge Tubes
For special applications it is possible to produce cellular tubes which combine the typical properties of sponge articles with the individual properties of silicone type products.

Silex produce silicone-rubber sponge tubes according to customer specifications for the industrial- as well as for the food markets (raw material conformity according to FDA).

Because of a high variety of different processes of blowing, the final products are customized to your application depending on tensile strength, compression set und the type of cells (open / closed).

Linked to the process the tubes always have a closed skin.

The standard set up of the articles are rolled rings or customer specified.

Type of tubes / properties

  • Open cells up to most closed cells.
  • Natural white colour or special colours according to the RAL-system.
  • Food contact applications (BFR XV, FDA CFR 21 § 177.2600).
  • Very high thermal- and sound-isolation level.
  • High sealing behaviour because of easy compression and high elasticity (compensation of tolerances).
  • Typical silicone properties are very high hot-air resistance, weathering- and ageing resistance (UV, ozone) as well as very low variation of properties over a range of temperatures.
